The Gunnink family has a long-standing history with Schaeffer Manufacturing Company. Glenn Gunnink started as a sales rep in 1985 while still working as a dairy farmer. He sold his cows in 1986 and became a full-time Schaeffer sales rep. In 2006, his son Dan joined the company after working in agriculture and trucking for 16 years. In 2008, Glenn and Dan began working together, and in 2014, Dan's son Justin joined the family business after graduating college.
